Once logged in, click "Add Site" in your dashboard, enter your URL, and configure:

- Check interval (how often to monitor)
- Alert channels — email, Slack, SMS, and/or voice call
- Optional SSL expiry reminders for HTTPS sites

Choose how and when you're notified: pick your channels, set an alert delay to avoid false alarms, and decide whether to repeat reminders while a site stays down.

Check Intervals
Choose how frequently NotifyUp checks your site:
Status Detection
NotifyUp makes an HTTP request to your URL and evaluates the result:
- Site is UP: HTTP status codes 200–399
- Site is DOWN: HTTP 4xx/5xx, timeouts, network errors, or an invalid/expired SSL certificate
Response Time & Uptime
Every check records the response time in milliseconds, and your uptime percentage is shown for the last 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days with color-coded health:

Notification Channels
Downtime and recovery alerts with site details, the error, and a dashboard link. Included on every plan.
Slack
Post alerts to a channel via an Incoming Webhook for real-time team visibility.

SMS and voice require verifying your phone number first (a one-time code). Pro includes 100 SMS and 25 voice calls per month, tracked on your dashboard's usage meter; email and Slack are unlimited.
Alert Delay
Add a delay before the first alert to avoid false alarms — if your site recovers during the delay, no alert is sent. Options: immediate (0), 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes.
Repeat & Recovery
Choose whether to repeat reminders while a site stays down (every 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes, or hourly — or not at all). When the site recovers, you get a recovery notification with the total downtime and the number of alerts sent.
SSL Certificate Monitoring
Certificate tracking
For every HTTPS site, NotifyUp reads the TLS certificate on a regular schedule and shows its status on the monitor — valid, expiring soon, or expired — along with the issuer and the exact expiry date.
Expiry reminders
Enable per-monitor reminders and set how many days before expiry you want to be warned. NotifyUp sends the reminder over your email and Slack channels so you can renew before visitors ever see a certificate warning.
Analytics & Incidents
Per-monitor detail
Open any monitor to see its response-time history, a 24-hour status strip, current SSL status, and uptime across the last 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days.
Incident history
The Incidents screen lists downtime episodes across all your monitors — ongoing and resolved — with the affected site, likely root cause, start time, and total duration, so you can see patterns at a glance.

Can I sign in with Google?
Yes — use “Continue with Google” on the login or signup page. Your account is created instantly, with no separate email verification step.
Does NotifyUp check SSL certificates?
Yes. For HTTPS sites it tracks certificate expiry and shows a status badge, and you can enable per-monitor reminders a set number of days before a certificate expires.
How do SMS and voice-call alerts work?
Verify your phone number once, then enable SMS and/or voice on a monitor. These are Pro features; Pro includes 100 SMS and 25 voice calls per month (email and Slack are unlimited).
How do I set up Slack notifications?
Create an Incoming Webhook in your Slack workspace, paste the webhook URL when adding or editing a site, and enable Slack for that monitor.
What happens if I exceed my monitor limit?
You won’t be able to add new sites until you remove some or upgrade. Existing monitors keep running normally.
Can I change the check interval later?
Yes — edit a monitor at any time to change the interval, alert channels, SSL reminders, or the URL being monitored.
Can I monitor sites behind authentication?
Currently NotifyUp monitors publicly accessible HTTP/HTTPS URLs only. Support for authenticated endpoints may come later.
